student leadership opportunities

School Captains / Vice Captains

These leaders are highly valued members of our School Community as they represent what all parents of students would hope for when they are in their final year of primary school. They have the following responsibilities:

  • set up / plan and assist the Principal in running school assemblies

  • represent the school at a variety of functions and events such as Anzac Day

  • Liaise with the Principal to discuss school needs and trends from a student perspective

 

Junior School Councillors

They have the following responsibilities:

  • Run "Friendship Place" - a designated area for those students who have no one to play with or just want to play quiet games

  • Run events for our Term 3 Fun Run

    •    Meet regularly to discuss key issues.

 

PALS (Peers as Leaders)

They have the following responsibility:

  • Run organised physical games and activities twice a week.

These games are designed to develop a sense of respect, sharing and a sense of belonging.

 

Library Leaders

They have the following responsibility:

  • Work with the library technician to complete a variety of activities during teaching time and recess for students across the school such as book reviews and the purchasing of books

 

Transition Leaders

They have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with the transition coordinator to assist with the transition of incoming preps

  • conduct school tours

  • speak at Open Evenings

  • support incoming Preps through displaying exemplary interpersonal skills

 

 

Enviro Leaders

They have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop systems for rubbish collection and recycling

  • Develop awareness amongst students about sustainable practises

  • Oversee the vegetable garden

  • Care for our chickens 

  • Assist in the structure of a garden program for all students in the school

 

Play Leaders

They have the following responsibility:

  • Assist other students in the school "Play Pod" area and assist in the further development of this area.

 

House Captains

They have the following responsibility:

  • Help organise and run the events for our whole school sports day in term one

  • Assist with planning and organisation of other sports events run during the year
